During Earth Hour 2010* . . . to you*

It is the lights of the city
Those guiding lights that
lured me to stop counting

my steps forget my breaths
It is the lights in the heart of the city
that silently lured me to forget the
beauty of the glittering stars why did I
forgot the art of counting the stars?

Dead stars . . . but nevertheless Inside my house
my will is trapped inside the gloom of the artificial
light while the flickering blue window lamp distracts
me now and then and sometimes the sight of the moon
outside my window
captures my attention

for a second or two.

Inside the lights of the city human wills are trapped still chasing the dream that is already – real - inside the darkness of their longing soul Did they also forget how to count the dead stars Alas they want to become stars be remembered . . . it is Earth Hour 2010 and the voice of the people silently makes history, I was there as well writing those words to you
under the flickering flame

I didn’t go out, I didn’t count the stars but I heard the raindrops song and forgot my worries start believing in a better future felt connected with the rest of the world while I was offline . . .
